For tutors

Teach on your terms. Keep everything you earn.

We never take a commission on your lessons. Not on the first, not on the hundredth.

How students find you

  1. Build your profile

Your subjects, your levels, your rate, your availability, and a description in your own words. This is what students read before they decide.

  2. Students find you, and it costs you nothing

When a student searches your subject, you appear. You pay nothing for this. You pay nothing when they read your profile, and nothing when they unlock your contact details.

  3. Or you find them

Students post what they need. You see those requests and apply to the ones that fit. Applying costs credits, priced by the student's country. A UK student's request costs more than a Pakistani student's, because the work is worth more.

Your credits are spent when you apply. If the student never opens a single application on that request, and they have not verified their phone, you get them back automatically after 12 days. You are paying for a real opportunity, not for the chance of one.

Feature your profile

Being found is free. Being found first is not.

When you feature your profile in a subject, you set an amount per month, anything from 20 to 10,000 credits. Tutors who have set a higher amount appear above those who have set less.

Apart from how reliably you respond to students, that is the whole mechanism.

  • It is per subject.

Featuring in IGCSE Mathematics does nothing for your Physics listing. You choose where it matters.

  • It is per scope.

Online and in person are separate.

  • You can change it any time.

Raising takes effect immediately. Lowering takes effect from the first of next month, so you keep what you have already paid for.

  • You can stop any time.

    No notice, no penalty.

Featured tutors also see new student requests first. The higher your placement in that subject, the sooner it reaches you. We tell you where you stand, so you always know what you are paying for.

How we rank you, the honest version

Most platforms will not tell you this. We will.

  1. More credits means a better position

If you have set 2,000 credits on IGCSE Mathematics and another tutor has set 500, you will usually appear above them. Not always in one particular search, but across many.

  2. Equal credits means an equal chance

If you both set 2,000 and both respond to students reliably, you each get an even chance of appearing first. Not “the older account wins”. Not “the one with more reviews wins”. An even chance, drawn fresh every time someone searches.

This matters. It means a tutor who joined last week and a tutor who joined last year get the same treatment for the same money.

  3. One credit more does not buy much

If you set 2,001 against someone's 2,000, you will appear above them slightly more often than not. Almost exactly half the time. Outbidding by a single credit is not a strategy, and we built it that way deliberately.

  4. Reviews decide, but not where you think

Reviews do not move you up the search results. They do something more useful: they decide whether a student who has found you chooses you.

Position gets you seen. Reviews get you hired. We are not willing to let money buy the second one.

  5. We will tell you when you are wasting money

If you set an amount higher than you need for the best chance of the top position in that subject, we say so and offer to lower it. We would rather you spend less and stay than spend more and leave.

What we never do

  • We never take a commission.

    Your rate is your rate.

  • We never charge you to be listed or to be contacted.

You spend credits only when you choose to: to apply to a request, or to feature your profile.

  • We never hide the ranking.

Everything on this page is how it actually works.

  • We never sell your position to advertisers.

Only tutors who teach a subject can be featured in it.
